Zoe's trip to the Golisano childrens hospital in Syracuse

Most of you know today Zoe had to get her intestines scoped, a colonoscopy, and a biopsy done.  We had to be there at 8:30 in the morning so that meant I had to leave at 6:00 in the morning to meet up with Alex and then head to the hospital. Zoe was exhausted all day because she was up most of the night because we had to clean her out so we get good test results. And she woke up at 5:00 in the morning and had a blowout so I got up then and cleaned her up and brought her down stairs and put a movie on so I could pack up and get ready and my mom came down to snuggle with her while I was getting ready. Zoe slept most of the way but she was soooooo exhausted and kept asking for "wa wa" (water) but they told me no drink of anything after midnight so I couldn't. It just broke my heart. But when we got to the hospital Alex took her out of her car seat and she had another blowout. So we just wrapped her blanket around her and decided to change her diaper when we got to her room in the hospital. Her nurse's name was Lori and there was another nurse there that wasn't Zoe's nurse but she took to Zoe and thought she was the cutest thing ever (which she is). When we arrived the nurse asked me if she was usually this calm???? And I told her no but I think it was because we had a busy day before and she didn't get a good night sleep because she was up a lot during the night with her getting cleaned out. Well the nurse decided to do a blood sugar test on her foot and Zoe didn't even flinch or cry. Her blood sugar level was 56 so they decided to put the IV in  before procedure. So for sure I thought there was going to be tears. But there was no tears or anything. The doctor and nurses were amazed and said that she was the best patient they had in awhile and that she was even better then the teenager patients. They weighed her before her procedure and she weighs 23 pounds 13 ounces. And then daddy said his goodbyes and gave her kisses and I went with her to the surgery room 5 and they told me they were about to start the anesthesia and they told me I could hold her and she started to say "owwww" and the nurse told me it was the anesthesia going through her IV and so I told her it was ok and she was then fine and stopped and laid there and then I whispered that I loved her over and over in her ear until they told me she was out and that I had to go......then I bursted into tears and the nurse that took to Zoe gave me a hug and told me she knows how stressful it is and that Zoe will be ok and then I went back to Zoe's room and when I saw Alex he hugged me and comforted me and when I went to get Zoe's I bursted into tears again so Alex grabbed them and we went to the waiting room. We waited 50 minutes until Doctor Wali came and said everything went great and that he wanted to talk in the room. Once we went in the room he asked us if she has asthma because she was wheezing. We told him no not that we were aware of. He said her lungs were having a hard time and that they gave her albuterol and that if she didn't stop wheezing he would want to keep her overnight and that they have to wake her up slowly so it will take 10 to 15 more minutes longer for us to see her.  But the good news was that her intestines and stomach looked great and that we should get her biopsy results sometime next week. So we had to wait in the waiting room till she started waking up welllllllllll we waited another 50 minutes until they called us and told us we could see her in her in her room. And when I walked in I could still hear her wheezing and the nurse was sitting there waiting for her to wake up but Zoe was sleeping so hard. We were taking to the nurses and Zoe didn't even move so the nurse asked us to come get her when Zoe woke up. I stayed right by her head so she would see me when she woke up but we waited a little and she was still sleeping so Alex grabbed a chair and told me to sit but when I sat the bars on the bed were in my way so I couldn't see her face so I stood up because I wanted to see her and be there when she woke up. After a little she finally woke up and she had a little smirk on her face and warmed my heart it was so precious.  And I asked her if she wanted some juice and she shook her head yes and I held her sippy cup while Alex got the nurse and when the nurse came in she told me I could pick her up and hold her. I was soooooo excited that I could hold her. She was a very thirsty girl she drank 3/4 of the juice in her cup at that one sitting.  The nurse then checked her lungs and she said her lungs sounded great and that we could take her home. I was soooooooooooooo happy to hear that. So she started discharging her. And we were in our car by a little after 12:45 p.m. She slept the whole way home but woke up once and asked where daddy was and then went back to sleep. When we got back to my parents house she had a couple nibbles of  saltines but she was really enjoying her juice. And I put her favorite movie and and sat her on the recliner and she fell asleep watching it and then she woke up so I snuggled with her and she fell asleep and then I fell asleep but when we both woke up she had more of a appetite and she ate a waffle, a honey bun, and more juice. She was whiny but still very tired so she went to bed early. And that is where she is now.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
